You may be living with the reality of a handicap or disease that makes raising a child beyond your capabilities. Or you may have any number of unique circumstances that have led you to this path. Whatever your situation, you want what’s best for you and your child and need to explore the options.
We at Linkner Law are here to help you sort out your choices, and make a plan that will give your baby the best life has to offer. We respect you, your love for your baby, and your willingness to make decisions that can be difficult. We are not here to judge you, but to make sure you get the best possible representation at this difficult time in your life. How We Can Help You
- Carefully explain the adoption laws, your rights and your choices.
- Refer you for counseling to help you decide if adoption is right for you and your child.
- Guide and support you through the adoption process.
- Help you find and select an adoptive family that has the qualities you want for your child, either in Michigan or in any other state.
- Make sure the adoptive family has been thoroughly evaluated and approved for stability, financial security, emotional and physical health, and has had criminal background checks.
- Help you decide whether you want to meet the adoptive parents during your pregnancy and/or maintain an ongoing relationship after the baby is born.
- Arrange for payment of your pregnancy and adoption-related expenses as permitted by law.
- Prepare and support you through the signing of all legal documents and your court hearing if you need to appear in court.
