Our Practice
The Basics of Our Practice
At Linkner Law, we will:
- Carefully explain the legal process you are about to undertake: your rights, available choices, anticipated costs and what to expect at each step.
- Treat each client with kindness, dignity and respect, offering the opportunity to speak openly without being judged.
- Maintain strict ethical standards and preserve your confidentiality.
- Tailor our services to your particular situation, while making sure all legal requirements are met - whether you are seeking to adopt, placing a child for adoption or plan to expand your family through assisted reproductive technology.
- Answer your questions, even the hard ones.
- Refer you to experienced professionals for home studies, counseling, support groups and health care needs.
- Coordinate payment of living and other expenses for birthmothers, donors and surrogates/gestational carriers so that only lawful expenses are paid, preventing later challenges to the adoption or surrogacy.
- Facilitate post-placement contact between birthparents and adoptive parents, or surrogate/gestational carrier and intended parents, if desired.
Why Choose Us to Help?
We have extensive experience in both Michigan and interstate cases. As a Fellow of both the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys, Monica has a strong network of the top adoption and ARTs experts throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Our strict code of ethics and values serve as guideposts to help see our clients through the sometimes-arduous family formation processes.
Ms. Linkner was awarded the Angels in Adoption Award by the national Congressional Coalition on Adoption, which recognized her working to improve the lives of children through adoption. Learn more by clicking here.
